The Flatiron Building is located on a triangular property at the intersection of Fifth Avenue, Broadway and 22nd Street. The architecture, Beaux-Arts style was designed as a vertical Renaissance palazzo. Placed on the National Register of Historic places the structure was designated a National Historic Landmark. Designed by architects Daniel Burnham and Frederick Dinkelberg of Chicago, construction was completed in 1902. The tower is an early skyscraper reaching 22 stories for a total height of 285 feet (87 meters).
