One of the most diverse talents in modern filmmaking, Danny Boyle has shacked up with the greedy set (Shallow Grave), run with the junkies (Trainspotting), watched paradise wither (The Beach), shown us the end (28 Days Later), and followed the journey for a new beginning (Sunshine). Yet while Boyle’s films are often impressively varied in terms of both genre and tone, they all retain a certain intensity and visual aesthetic that makes them instantly recognizable as his own.

In the realms of horror, cult, sci-fi, and even plain old comic-bookish nerdery, there's one name (and one chin) that unites every faction -- and that name is Bruce Campbell. From the Evil Dead series to those amazing Old Spice commercials, Campbell has developed a hyper-masculine persona tempered with just enough satire for nobody to know where the fake Bruce ends and the real one begins. In his new movie My Name is Bruce, Campbell plays himself -- enlisted to help save a town infested with demons, by a kid who doesn't quite get that Campbell is just an actor. This doesn't help to clarify the issue of Campbell's true identity, so AllMovie's own Jason Buchanan had no choice but to go one-on-one with the genre-rific hero, in an interview that would hopefully put all (or at least some) questions to rest.
