News 12 Connecticut is looking for the right individual to generate story ideas, gather information, and produce and present stories and other content for all platforms and in a manner that is clear, relevant and meaningful to news consumers. Shoot and edit local highlights. Shoot and edit sports packages. Produce, write, and edit sportscast. Record and edit national sports highlights. Ensure all content meets News 12 Network standards for journalistic integrity and production quality. The ideal candidate needs a minimum of four years of Full-time professional sports reporting experience as well as two years anchoring experience, as well as knowledge of how to shoot and edit video. Must have highly effective on-air performance with excellent news judgment and extensive knowledge of local and national sports events and issues. Must possess the ability to conduct in-depth research and pursue investigative stories effectively as well as excellent news writing and copying editing for all platforms. Must maintain professional personal appearance as defined by News 12 management. Must have the ability to work cooperatively with others to create a sense of teamwork in the presentation of sports and other programming as well as the ability to conduct probing, in-depth and engaging interviews. Must be proficient in newsgathering equipment and computers with extensive knowledge of news production techniques and demonstrated ability to develop engaging presentation. Enhance stories by providing insight and perspective with the ability to think quickly and respond appropriately in high-pressure situations.
